About Me:
Holding space for the tender transition into parenthood.
Hi, I’m Michelle Ocheltree— a certified postpartum doula, nurturer by nature, and passionate advocate for families in the fourth trimester and beyond.
My work is rooted in the belief that every family deserves to be supported, affirmed, and care for during the early weeks and months after welcoming a new baby—whether it’s your first or your fifth, whether your journey includes birth , adoption, surrogacy, or something in between.
I provide trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ inclusive care that meets you where you are. With warmth, nonjudgemental presence, and practical support, I walk alongside you—whether that looks like helping with newborn care, preparing nourishing meals, soothing a fussy baby overnight, or simply offering space to exhale and be heard.
Why I became a postpartum doula.
I was drawn to this work through a deep calling to care for others— not just the baby, but the whole family. I’ve seen how overlooked and isolated the postpartum period can be, especially for those that are navigating it without a village. Becoming a doula felt like a way to rebuild that village-one family at a time.
I believe rest is essential, recoveries sacred, and parents deserve just as much care as their newborns.
My Approach
I approach postpartum care with a calm and grounding presence and a deep respect for each family’s unique experience. My support is gentle, practical, and always tailored to what you need in the moment— whether that’s hands on newborn care, a nourishing meal, a few hours of sleep, or simply someone to listen without judgement. I draw on evidence-based training and continued education to offer care that is informed and intentional., while remaining flexible and intuitive. My work is family-centered, extending support not just to the birthing parent, but also to partners, siblings, and all members of the household. I am deeply committed to providing inclusive, affirming care for all families—regardless of gender identity, parenting path, or family structure— because everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and nurtured during this sacred time.

TESTIMONIALS
Michelle worked as our night doula for 3 months, starting immediately after the birth of our daughter. My partner and I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with Michelle. To start, she is incredibly professional and organized. She provided us with evidence-based practices and advice and followed up with resources to learn more about those practices (which was especially useful as sometimes this advice was given late in the night when postpartum brains weren't the best at storing information. She helped us with developing a baby-led schedule, laying out our nursery and was flexible when adjustments needed to be made.
More than anything, Michelle was caring and compassionate with our new baby and with us. She made a point to always check in and assist my husband and I in the adjustment to parenthood. She became a much-needed friend in the early days and is passionate about providing newborn care. We were so happy that we were able to work with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone in search of a doula.

We could not be more pleased with Michelle as our overnight nanny for our newborn. From the start, she was warm, personable, and genuinely attentive in a way that immediately put us at ease.
What really set Michelle apart was that she went well beyond just showing up and doing the job. She provided detailed notes after each night and shared thoughtful observations about why our baby was sleeping the way he was, what might be affecting his rest, and things we could consider going forward. It was incredibly valuable to have that kind of insight and guidance during such an important and sometimes overwhelming time.
It was clear that Michelle takes real pride in her work. That comes through in everything she does, and it was truly refreshing to see. We felt completely comfortable and at ease having her in our home.
We would have loved to extend our time with her and would absolutely use her again, whether for overnight newborn care, babysitting, or nanny services for both our newborn and our toddler. We trust her completely and our whole family loved having her around.
Any family would be lucky to have Michelle. We recommend her without hesitation.
